Ujtash-Makhachkala Highway
The Ujtash-Makhachkala Highway is 19.5 kilometres long and connects the international airport with capital of Dagestan; in addition, it provides a comfortable exit to the M 29 Caucasus highway, which is of federal importance.
Work on construction of the highway included the erection of four overpasses that are held on reinforced concrete supports extensing for 300 metres, the construction of 5 junctions on two different levels and eight elevated pedestrian crossings, as well as the reorganisation of the mountainous sewerage system, gas pipe, communication and power lines.
The above motorway of the first technical category, which is currently the only high-speed motorway in the Republic of Dagestan, was commissioned by SMU-55 ahead of schedule.
